The central tribal government of the Navajo Nation is located in the Tribal Park in Window Rock, AZ, the capital of the 27,413 sq. mile reservation. More than 180,000 residents live in 110 chapter communities organized into five "Agencies," the designation a legacy of the Bureau of Indian Affairs pre-dating modern tribal government.

​The Navajo Nation Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services (Navajo OSERS) is a sub-unit of the Navajo Nation Division of Diné Education, funded by a grant to the Tribe from the U.S. Department of Education.  It is home to these programs:
 
 
 
 
The Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) oversees formula and discretionary grant programs that help individuals with physical or mental disabilities to obtain employment and live more independently through the provision of such supports as counseling, medical and psychological services, job training and other individualized services.
