Many families within the Navajo Nation have experienced a significant shift away from traditional wellness frameworks and historical support systems. Through our community outreach, we have identified a growing public health challenge involving social isolation and the dispersal of extended family networks. This shift often leaves individuals with disabilities and specialized health needs without the historical kinship supports they require, leading to increased community-wide grief.
